Memorial Bust for Nelson Mandela Inaugurated at Polygraphia Office Center

A bust monument in tribute to former South African President Nelson Mandela (1918-2013) was inaugurated at Polygraphia Office Center. The initiative was supported by AG CapitalLion’s Head, and Old Mutual Property.

Throughout the past 5 years following the official launch of our business, we have been playing an active role in fostering business opportunities between Bulgaria and South Africa, offering support to more South African companies to make investments and create a local business community. Today’s inauguration of Nelson Mandela’s bust statue marks an important step in celebrating our longstanding relationship with a strong and independent nation”, said Christo Iliev, CEO of Lion’s Head and Executive Chairman of AG Capital, during his speech at the event.

The unveiling of the memorial bust is part of a series of bilateral events organised by the South African Embassy in Bulgaria, and the Bulgarian Embassy in South Africa, in celebration of the 30th anniversary of the restoration of diplomatic relations between the two countries. The initiative commemorates Nelson Mandela as an extraordinary person and peace-maker, having dedicated his entire life to working for a better world, leaving a lasting impact on humanity.

Crafted by two prominent sculptors, Zelda Stroud from South Africa and Ilia Boyarev from Bulgaria, the bust has been placed in Polygraphia’s outdoor premises.

Guests of honour at the official inauguration ceremony featured South African Ambassador to Bulgaria Thabo Thage, Velislava Petrova, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yordanka Fandakova, Mayor of Sofia, Aneesh Nagar, Executive Chairman of Old Mutual Property, Sakina Nosarka, CEO of Old Mutual Property and Christo Iliev, Executive Director of Lion’s Head and Executive Chairman of AG Capital.
